Eric Boone united with the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church of Gary, Indiana under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Cato Brooks, Jr.  following the passing of his grandfather, Rev. Dr. Clint F. Watson in 1994. Under his leadership, Eric Boone grew spiritually in wisdom and knowledge.  

 

Rev. Boone is proud to follow in the footsteps of his late grandfather, Rev. Dr. Clint F. Watson.

On Sunday, December 1, 2013,  Rev. Eric L. Boone, Sr. was elevated to Senior Executive Pastor of the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Cato Brooks, Jr. On October 15, 2017, he preached his first sermon as Pastor Elect of the Tree of Life MBC. Installation services were held on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

 

In May 2015, Rev. Boone recieved his Doctorate degree from Liberty University. He is currently a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Gary and Vicinity the District Association (NIMBDA), and the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. 

 

With a practical, yet insightful and charismatic preaching style, Dr.  Boone is dedicated to spreading the good news of the Gospel to everyone he meets. He is a sought after speaker and revivalist who is called on to empower and encourage the people of God as he travels city to city and state to state proclaiming the Word of God.

     

In the past, Rev. Boone served as instructor for the Do or Die Second Chance Program created through the Gary City Court System in an effort to address cases involving drug addicted individuals. The 12-24 month program is an attempt to address the challenges of young men ages 16 to 25, the majority of whom have substance abuse issues. The program offers diversion from the traditional adjudication process of the court system into an intense program of treatment and supervision. 

 

Rev. Boone commenced his preaching ministry at the age of 22 and God has favored him by allowing tremendous and explosive growth to accompany his ministry.  Rev. Boone is truly grateful that God allows him the privilege to preach the Gospel of Jesus the Christ.  Rev. Boone is dedicated and committed to telling a dying world about a Living Savior.

Rev. Boone is married to his wife, Tereka and they share 4 beautiful children: Eric Jr., Eriyana, Elijah and Emily.
